ETHICS AND CONFIDENTIALITY
The researchers appreciated the potential sensitivity
of research relating to issues of discrimination and assured
potential respondents that the highest standards of research conduct
would be applied throughout the study.
All data provided was treated in the strictest confidence
and is stored securely, in locked facilities at the Faculty of Law
and the School of Sociology and Social Work, University of Tasmania.
Computer records which relate to the research are kept
in locked facilities and password-protected. Information provided
will not be used for any purpose other than the research as described
and no individual will be identified or identifiable in any subsequent
report.
The research was approved in accordance with the National Health
and Medical Research guidelines by the Human Research Ethics Committees
associated with the researchers’ institutions.
