PROJECT D: THE VERIFICATION PROJECT

This phase of the Genetic Discrimination Project sought to examine in detail and with explicit consent, specific claims by consumers of differential treatment, and where possible, to follow these up with relevant third party organisations.

Aims of Verification Project:

  • to verify, or not, alleged incidents of unfair treatment by consumers
  • to elucidate the decision-making processes and justifications of relevant third parties in specific cases of alleged unfair treatment


Methods: a range of methods were employed where appropriate and feasible, including review of documentation and interviews with consenting consumers and relevant third party personnel.
